The Zombie Apocalypse, what would you do?
Imagine an army of undead, running right for you and never getting tired. What would you do? How would you protect yourself? “One day hell will overfill and the dead shall walk the earth” this is a quote found in the movie Dawn of the Dead. Now pay close attention to what I am about to tell you, because this is important! I will start off with telling you that you need to have weapons. This is the second most important thing that you can have here with you. A mixture of melee weapons and long range weapons are what you want, you don’t need to have one type because you will get overwhelmed. Having a wider variety of weapons allows you to either stay far away (which is what you usually want) or fight them off if they get to close to you. Weapons are not the only things you need to survive there is plenty more when you have an army of undead to face. This brings me to the third most essential tool if you want to survive, which is a “stable position.” You want this so that zombies are only able to access you from one entry point, you don’t want to get overwhelmed because if you do you just might be saying goodbye. TEAMWORK! Now I absolutely cannot stress this enough, team work is by far the most important thing you will need.
The materials you will need are very similar to what’s important. You will need weapons, allies, and an already assembled tool kit. Guns are the preferable weapon for there accuracy and effectiveness. Allies are a major necessity if you want to survive. Do not get me wrong though, because allies can be anyone they maybe someone you met on the street or your worst enemy. If they were your worst enemy before the apocalypse well that’s just too bad, because now they are your best ally from the beginning of this fight until the very end. Last but definitely not least you will want and very much need a pre prepared survival kit. Within the kit you will want things like a flash light, extra bullets (if you have a gun), a non-firearm weapon (machete or hunting knife). Along with this you also want a separate medical kit. As the name states, you will want this kit for basic medical supplies with matches, some beef jerky, and maps. Now this was all found on www.associatedcontent.com. Many people have came up with ideas, tips, and movies on how to survive the zombie apocalypse, but I have put together an essay that I believe is your best on how to survive the zombie apocalypse and live to see another day.
Now let’s get into the juicy stuff. I have told you all about what you are going to need to prepare in order to stay alive, so now I will go through a step by step process on how to use what me and many other people like me believe will help you from becoming a victim to one of these monsters or even worse becoming one yourself. Understanding that not everyone owns a gun, there are still plenty of weapons out there that you can use. Now when preparing for this horrifying experience whether it has already happened, or you’re just a crazy person and believe that one is pending you need to have a variety of weapons at your disposal. Variety is the key word here, this works because not everyone knows how to use a gun properly or even has one as stated earlier. A gun will allow you to pick off zombies from much farther away, but having a melee weapon such as a bat, machete, or hunting knife will allow you to pick off zombies up close and personal without having to use your hands and risk getting infected yourself. Carrying weapons all around doesn’t sound much fun now does it? Well no need to fear for, because as long as you take a back pack with you or some sort of a bag that you can carry around your back you will be able to maneuver no problem. On www.blog.wired.com/defense it was recorded that shooting a target in the head is a very daunting task. A police officers potential for hitting an adversary in the head, during armed confrontation was 25% increasing from past years. Potential for an officer hitting a target in the head was only 17% back in 1992, at distances ranging from 1 to 15 yards. After hearing this you may think that carrying a gun would be useless (especially if you have never used one before), but trust me you want a gun! They are very effective against zombies and the more you use them the better you will get, so if you find one or have one use it like crazy!
Once you get done with the first step of gathering your weapons and finding the type that fits you best, you will want to find a “position” to protect yourself from the zombies. Now what I mean by finding a “position”, is find a place that is well secured and may serve as shelter for the time that you will be hiding away. Many people believe that if an apocalypse of zombies were to happen you should leave form where you’re at. This is not always the case though, instead you should only leave from where you presently are located (at the time of the zombie apocalypse) if you are in a heavily populated area. If you are in Los Angeles or New York at the time of the apocalypse, well sorry to say but you are screwed. The most ideal place you would want to be is a strong building with lots of access to food, or a building of some sort that has access to food or any other supplies that you may need. Zombies cannot walk under water or swim as shown in some movies, so an ideal place would be an island with a smaller population and a good source of supplies around. Like some of your other supplies or things you have done to prepare, you will want to scout out a position before hand. This is just precautioanary, but vital. When looking for your “position” you will want to be looking for not only a place abundent in supplies, but also a place that gives you and your team an advantage over the enemy. A place is surrounded by water as stated above will not only help to keep other zombies from getting to you, but may allow you a significant advantage in fighting the zombies as well.
Shelter is your next step. This is kinda of like your postion, you want it to be secure, allow you to protect yourself if need be, and also close to any supplies you may need. When preparing your shelter you will definitly want to put aluminum on all windows, or some type of metal sheets. On the doors you will want to completely cover all of them with heavy items, and like the windows reinforce them with metal siding or some covering. This is to keep the zombies from being able to break into the your shelter and overwhelming your party. Keep in mind that when you are doing this you want to leave at least two exits in order to allow you to escape if things tend to get a little hairy. Depending on where your shelter is some of the above steps may vary. Heavily populated area, your going to want a lot of heavy protection. Smaller population your going to want protection not as heavy so that you may manuver more, and why waste the time if you don’t have to. Now you may think to yourself “Hey shelter is exactly like position” well my friend your wrong because they both provide different resoponsobilites that you are going to want. Position can be anywhere it does not have to be in the same place as your shelter. So please put as much attention into your shelter as you would with your position.
Teamwork is the last step into survival and the most importnt. A team should consist of you and as many other people you can get together. The more the merrier, especially when your outnumbered by thousands. To esemble a team, preferrably you want people you can trust because you know they wont feed you to the zombies to save themselves. If for some reason all your friends get eaten by the sombies, I’m sorry but now you must turn to the help of your friendly neighborhood hobos, and everyday strangers. Hobos know how to live in harsh climates, and they know how to use their surroundings, so these are your kind of people. Strangers are just all around you, so if you have no friends then turn to these people. Regardless of who is in your party now you must work as a team. This means many different things. When sleeping no matter where you are located you want a watch out at all times. When something like the zombie apocalypse occurs you do not want to take any chances. One big thing is that you want to learn how to regulate food with in the group. You don’t want everyone eating as much as they possibaly can because then you will starve. So now learn how to fight together. You want to copy army tactics when fighting because they protect all eachother as a group. Learn how to speak to one another when out searching for supplies so that you don’t get flanked from one side. Teamwork is essential to human life, if the world learned how to work as a team, then there would be no war or needless violence.
I have given you every piece of advice in my arsenal to help you protect yourself from the zombie apocalypse, so please head my words and prepare. Just in case you have forgotten the materials you will need are weapons, allies, and an already assembled tool kit. These materials along with the steps will ensure that you survive to see another day within the post world of the zombie apocalypse. I have taught you much here today on how to prepare, and what to prepare, many movies have come out on this event, and many people have done what I have, but my essay contains the full proof advice for you to survive and see another day. So if you are one of those people that don’t believe, take this essay with you because one day it just might save you.
